What is The Game Expo?
The Game Expo is Melbourne's latest convention bringing together all things gaming and gaming culture under one roof! We've got everything you'd want out of a convention, from gaming tournaments, cosplay, tabletop gaming, and more! When is The Game Expo?
The Game Expo is scheduled to be held from March 11th - 12th 2023 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Center.
Our show open hours are:
Saturday (11/03): 10:00am - 09:00pm (Exhibit Zone 9am-5pm)
Sunday (12/03): 10:00am - 05:00pm
Are there any age restrictions?
While the expo is open to all ages, there are some games that may be unsuitable for younger people. These will be appropriately signposted and blocked off as necessary.
Children 5 or under get free entry to the event, you will just need to select the "child" ticket addon at checkout along with an adult pass.
Can I take photos/video at the event?
The Game Expo is in a public space, so if you want to take some photos or video, feel free to do so. However, if you are asked to not take photos/film of a person or an exhibit, please respect that request.
I'm planning to attend the event in cosplay, and my costume has a prop weapon to go with it. Will that be a problem?
Potentially. We recommend you to take a look at our guidelines regarding safety before coming to the show.
What tournaments will be running at the event?
Lots! Take a look at our tournaments page for the games we're planning to run tournaments for. We are also open to working with more tournament organizers/communities so if you're a TO make sure to get in touch!
What COVID protocols will you be following?
We'll be following the latest guidance and advice as provided by the Victorian Government.
About The Game Expo Team
The Game Expo was formed by members of the gaming community who have come together in collaboration. With decades of experience in gaming events producing activations for the industry, or to support their favourite games and find more people to play together. This is a home grown expo from the teams behind numerous fan favourite gaming LANS , pop culture shows and esports events, including BAM (Battle Arena Melbourne), The Big LAN, ITZ Gaming, Kanga Esports, Events Engine and more.

Will I be able to purchase tickets on-site?
No. Tickets are only available online if not sold out
Do you offer free admission for children/carers?
Yes! Children 5 or under and Carers with a valid careers/companion card will get free admission to The Game Expo. Plus select the "Child/Carers" addon ticket option when purchasing your tickets.
How do I register for a tournament?
For this, we'd recommend clicking into the tournaments section of the site and checking out the specific game you wish to register for. Each game may have specific requirements and methods for signing up, so be sure to check that before contacting us.

Venue
What's parking like at MCEC?
There's plenty of parking underneath the convention center, as well as even more at nearby South Wharf. For more details and pricing, check out the MCEC website.
Are there any food options at the event?
Yes! We'll have food stands open at MCEC, plus the nearby South Wharf and Crown Casino also have a variety of food options.
Will there be free WiFi?
Yes! However, we strongly advise that you don't rely on it, as there's a very good chance of it being congested due to other people using it at the same time.
I have a mobility impairment, how easy will it be for me to move around the show floor?
MCEC is extremely accessible if you use a wheelchair, but if there are any specific requirements you may need to get around the show floor, please get in touch with us so we can accommodate you.
